Cadets have the chance to take to the skies in a Viking Glider at Hullavington Airfield.

Initial flights over the local countryside generally last about 20 minutes, and often give Cadets their first experience of flying. As Cadets gain more airtime, they can even apply for a Gliding Scholarship. Also carried out at Hullavington over a period of about 2 months, Cadets will be taught the principles of flying throughout 40-50 flights, so that they are fully and legally qualified to take their first solo flight at the end of their training – this can be before you even get your driving licence!.

These experiences are all provided by No 621 VGS (Volunteer Gliding Squadron). For more information about the Squadron, please click here.
